Narrative POV? Third person.
General Information
Age Now, you can’t just go up to a bloke and ask him that.
Gender Male
Species Time Lord and fantastic.
Physical Description
Playby Chistopher Ecclesex…I mean, Eccleston.
Eye Colour Blue
Hair Colour What hair?
Height 6’0”
Describe Their Appearance Big ears and a goofy grin, Nine isn’t someone you can readily take seriously when you first meet him. Positively oozing enthusiasm and optimism, he is always animated in some way. Sometimes, he dances in places, other times he practices his jiggery-pokery, but Nine is always in motion. His large, beaten leather coat provides protection for him, allowing him to be ridiculous on the exterior. On occasion though, Nine’s happy-go-lucky façade breaks and you see him for what he is: a warrior, the Oncoming Storm. A quiet, burning intensity that hardens his usually bright, lively blue eyes and squares his shoulders into a soldier’s posture is only seen when Nine finds himself in battle. In that moment, when he is threatened or someone he cares about is threatened, Nine is a formidable presence.
Personality
In GeneralNine isn’t like all the other Doctors who are rather hyper and almost childish. It’s nearly impossible to ignore the fact that he’s 900 some odd years old when he’s taking control of a situation and barking orders. He’s very level headed, always knowing what to do and what not to do and, most importantly, when it needs done. It’s the fighter in him, Nine knows when to fight and when to retreat. Most importantly, he is able to do this without letting his own feelings cloud his judgment. He’s pragmatic and most importantly, compassionate. He’s willing to give some people and aliens chances even if he has the gut feeling that it won’t end well. Of course, he cleans up his messes when he does that.
For the most part, Nine is a happy sort of guy. He sees the joy in small things and will take a moment just to enjoy the earth moving beneath his feet. Nine loves bananas for one thing, they’ve become his simple pleasure in life. He’ll stop to enjoy chips or to drop his companion at the biggest market in the universe, just to see them smile. Since he’s seen so much war, death, and destruction, Nine latches onto the good he sees to keep from going mad.
But there are two sides to every coin. For every bit that Nine is good, compassionate, and strong, he has a dark, vulnerable side as well. Nine’s more sinister side is capable of doing truly horrible things. Genocide, for one. Nine is responsible for the end of the Great Time War, resulting in the death of all Time Lords and, as he had thought, Daleks. Nine refers to this part of himself by a name that existed in Dalek lore, the Oncoming Storm. He is strong, he is dangerous, and he is ruthless, unforgiving and without discrimination, just like a great tsunami wiping out an island. All in his path may perish and Nine would not let that stop him. This side of him had a mission and wouldn’t rest until that mission was completed.
Attitude Toward...
...Companions. Nine usually plays it off that he hates having to babysit someone but in reality, he loves them. having destroyed his people, Nine's been flying around the universe, trying to distract himself for far too long. The presence of someone, even a stupid ape, does wonders. And it's not like Doctor hates humans, he finds them charming and quaint, definitely amusing. One companion in particular, Nine loved Rose.
...Bananas. They're a good source of potassium.
Attitude Toward...
...Daleks. The only thing that the Doctor loathes are Daleks. They are mindless, ruthless killing machines and they were attacking his people. His hate was so strong he was willing to do anything to wipe them out entirely, including killing his own people. Now, when the Doctor sees a Dalek, it brings out the part of himself he prefers to ignore and turns the Doctor into something little better then they are.
...Paradoxes. They're annoyingly easy to avoid but they seem to happen anyway. It makes another little mess for the Doctor to have to clean up.. And, on top of it all, it's usually caused by a companion (Not naming any names here, but you know who you are e_e) which angers the Doctor. It isn't like he's asking them to perform brain surgery, he's asking them not to touch a baby! You stupid apes...
All The Little Things
Personal Effects
One sonic screwdriver, at least one banana, and God knows what else. Nine always has his leather jacket and will keep pretty much anything inside of its pockets. Bigger on the inside and all that.
Quirks or Habits
Nine gets rather surly and sarcastic when he feels insulted or like he's being ignored. He'll cross his arms and bring out his bitch face and happily snap at whoever it is that's annoying him. Usually Ricky the Idiot.
Extras
He is in fact able to dance.
Sample Post
He could go back to earth, he supposed. If he knew himself (and he did) the new him would be dragging Rose all over the universe, showing her all the places he had lined up for her. Barcelona, the planet mind; this fantastic little planet two galaxies over that was covered in bright red and orange wild flowers that smelled like cinnamon and vanilla; a planet that has the best view of the night sky in the universe, you can see for lightyears; a planet that was just perfect, green grass, bright blue sky, warm but with a little breeze, have picnic with her there, hold her hand, tell her....
The Doctor shook his head and leaned on the TARDIS console, looking up at the glowing pillar that hummed comfortingly. No, she wasn't his Rose anymore. Well, technically, she was but he had lost her. His new form, his tenth form, had her now and she was his Rose and now he was her Doctor.
He was obsolete now.
The Doctor sighed and rubbed his eyes tiredly, pinching the bridge of his nose. How long had it been since he "regenerated" but was robbed of a new life with Rose? 70, 80 years earth time? The Doctor shook his head and pushed away from the console, marching to the doors of the TARDIS and throwing them open. He was circling a star and he felt a blast of heat when he opened the doors. Hands braced on the doorframe, the Doctor closed his eyes and inhaled. He missed her. He missed Jack, whose body he left sitting in that Satellite. The Doctor missed not being alone. Again. Opening is eyes, the Doctor watched as a flair shot out from the star, twisting and curling in space. Swallowing thickly, the Doctor shut the doors and leaned against him.
He knew he couldn't take on another companion. It was too dangerous, especially for them. Look at what happened to Rose, to Jack. He couldn't put another person in harm's way like that. The Doctor couldn't risk getting close to someone, caring about them, and then losing them. The TARDIS hummed a little louder behind him, he could feel her reaching out telepathically to soothe him.
"Sod off." He snapped roughly, pushing away from the doors and stomping back up to the console, glaring at the pillar. The TARDIS gave a small shake and a jolt. "What? What do you want from me? I can't do anything, or haven't you noticed?" The Doctor snarled and punched in some coordinates roughly. The TARDIS whined in protest but he ignored her. With its customary whir and hum, the TARDIS dematerialized and rematerialized on the surface of some God forsaken planet, the only things there being rocks.
Stepping out onto the dry, craggy surface, the Doctor shut the TARDIS door and started to walk. The Doctor didn't stop until the toes of his worn, ragged boots teased the edge of a crater.
"Not so fantastic now, are you Doctor?" He asked himself bitterly.
